Richie and Ruben is the lead single from Fountains Of Wayne’s long-awaited new album, Sky Full Of Holes. The seven inch vinyl single includes exclusive non-album B-side “The Story in Your Eyes”, a cover version of The Moody Blues classic.
“The Story In Your Eyes has been a sound check staple for years", says Chris Collingwood. "Somewhere between 'Check, 1, 2' and the Led Zeppelin/Kansas medley. It’s like a virus that takes over your hands and there’s nothing you can do about it. On a related note, we were once backstage at a Moody Blues show and noticed that they came in wearing giant-lapelled tuxedos but changed into jeans and t-shirts for the show. To this day we do the same thing."
Recorded in New York City, produced by Chris Collingwood and Adam Schlesinger and mixed by longtime collaborator John Holbrook, Richie and Ruben showcases the band’s trademark storytelling abilities and flair for memorable characters.
