15 tracks of their most diverse and sonically adventurous work to date” – NME

They Might Be Giants will release their 20th full-length studio album I Like Fun physically and digitally on January 19th. Jumping with surprises, vitality, and the startling point of view of these Brooklyn originals, on the 15-track collection songwriters and band founders John Linnell and John Flansburgh draw on themes of dread, death, and disappointment and set them to their driving, hyper-melodic music.

The entire album is streaming now via NME here!

Fresh and sonically adventurous, the band is revered for their command of the studio and the stage, delivering one of the liveliest shows around. They Might Be Giants will take over stages with an energized live show across the globe in 2018. Purevolume have premiered the new video for “Call Me Kuchu”, from Taylor Locke’s album Time Stands Still.

Known as the former guitarist for L.A.-based indie rockers Rooney, Taylor Locke released a solo LP earlier this year. Titled Time Stands Still, Locke showcases a songwriting prowess that fans of his former band may not have realized. Today, we’re excited to premiere the latest video off that album. “Call Me Kuchu” is styled as an old fashioned movie, but don’t let the fun vibes fool you. The song’s serious tenor is played down by the imagery, which is something that Locke intended.

“The challenge was to respect the serious nature of the song, but without illustrating the lyrical content too literally,” Locke says of the video. “I wanted to walk the line between having fun, but also acknowledging the matter at hand. I hope people will be entertained and drawn in by the look of the video, but also take a close listen to whats going on under the surface.”

Here’s “Fathers Day”:

It’s a new year… i’ve been wanting you to hear this new song i wrote.. i started writing a song after Big Butch passed away a year ago.. i just couldn’t finish it without losing my words. my buddy Ryan Adams helped me really focus and finish the thoughts. needless to say, i think it might be the closest i have ever been to one of my songs (for obvious reasons). this one goes out to my Son AND my Dad – Butch.
